Fickle Sisters and Yoga Classes
When the yoga centre in town opened one year ago, my sister rushed to register for the classes. She, who had never exercised a day in her life, imagined herself slim and graceful as a swan after learning yoga. She even went to the mall and got herself the best exercising outfit as well as the best yoga mat there was.
My mother and I were very skeptical about it as we knew her well. She was always chasing fads and had the attention span of a gnat! She couldn't even keep a plant alive for a week. We knew that this new fad would fade away just like her enthusiasm for badminton, swimming and guitar lessons.
For the first two weeks, she trooped off to yoga class every two days. But eventually, true to her form, she began to skip classes on the excuse that she was tired after work and was still aching after the last class. Her expensive exercising outfit is now stuffed at the bottom of her wardrobe and her yoga mat is used by my mother to shade her potted plant.
